On this page we will give the golfer and non-golfing visitor to St Andrews, and Scotland, a selection of restaurants, pubs, sightseeing and things to do in this wonderful old European town. We will throw in a few things Scottish that we believe deserve greater attention!
The Dunvegan Hotel and Bar sits on the corner of Golf Place and Pilmour Place 120 yards from the 18th green of the Old Course in St. Andrews and has been one of my favorite post round watering holes since 2002 when I first came to St. Andrews to work as a caddie on the St Andrews Links.
The bar has been owned and run by Jack and Sheena Willoughby for over 22 years and has become one of the best known golf pubs in the world. The couple decided last year that they would put the hotel and bar up for sale and a group of golfing enthusiasts, regular visitors to the Dunvegan Hotel, from Canada and the United States are the new owners and the handover will be assisted with the Willoughby's for the next year or so.
A great bar to enjoy a beer, hang out, and chew the fat with fellow golfers, caddies and locals while visiting the town of St. Andrews.
