Scottish Golf Courses
Listed are some favourite golf courses in Scotland that I've enjoyed playing over the years. These are open and friendly courses that take pride in their welcome toward those visitors that seek them out.
Balfron Golf Society, Shian Golf Course
A wonderful golf course 20 miles north of Glasgow and only 6 miles or so miles from Loch Lomond. Superb views across the hills of the Trossachs make these 18 holes a joy to play. An 'honesty box' only adds to the charm of Balfron.
Buchanan Castle Golf Course
Designed in 1936 by the esteemed James Braid, five time Open Champion, it is only a half hour drive from Glasgow. Always a pleasure to play amongst the beautiful trees of this forrested estate, including Oak and Redwood, with many holes having Braid's trademark doglegs.
Callander Golf Course
Set in the heart of the Trossachs, 15 miles north of Stirling and 30 miles from Glasgow. A Tom Morris design from 1890 it has a lovely feel about it and is consistently voted as one of the most popular visitor golf courses in Scotland.
Carnwath Golf Club
The course upon which I learned to play golf from the age of five, eventually becoming the Junior Champion in 1976. Set in the rolling hills of Lanarkshire by W. Auchterlonie of St. Andrews in 1907. Every club is required and a rewarding round of golf is always had here.
Clober Golf Club
Based on the edge of Glasgow the land for this delightful golf course was donated by the grandparents of former Open and Masters Champion Sandy Lyle, who is the club's honorary president.
Dunaverty Golf Course
Situated on the tippermost point of the Mull of Kintyre Dunaverty is a rare beauty in Scottish links golf. Overshadowed by it's illustrious neighbour Machrihanish it really should not be cast aside by the visiting golfer when in the area. The greens are a pure joy to putt upon and the views across the sea to Ireland are fantastic.

Briar Leaf Golf Course
You can expect and enjoy great golf and great times at Briar Leaf Golf Club, La Porte, Indiana, USA.
This 35-year old layout has undergone a complete makeover including the professional renovation of bunkering. With water on eight holes, an island green, rolling hills, trees and plenty of sand, Briar Leaf offers 18 memorable and challenging holes.
Florida Golf Community
Piper's Landing is a private gated community in Palm City, Florida offering an 18 hole golf course, marina and tennis courts.
